I was born in Indiana and moved to Michigan when I was sixteen. I graduated from Caledonia High School. In high school I participated in football, basketball, track, and was in the band. Even in high school I always enjoyed history. I believe that it is important to understand where we have been so we can determine where we are going.
After high school I moved to Kalamazoo where I enrolled at Western Michigan University. I eventually graduated from WMU with a bachelors of arts in secondary education with a focus on history and social studies. During my last semester at WMU I was introduced to the wonderful district of Godfrey-Lee.
I completed my student teaching here at Lee. I taught under Mr. Cahoon and taught senior civics and government. After completing the requirements for graduation I left Kalamazoo and moved back to Grand Rapids. I subbed in the district for a year and then earned the seventh grade social studies position. I thoroughly enjoy teaching here at Lee and being part of the Lee family.
I have been married for four years and have a son. I am a huge Detroit sports fan. I like to travel, hunt, fish, and camp. Music is a major hobby of mine as I play the guitar and have been known to bring it to school from time to time. I am always here to help. I arrive to school early and stay late so please do not ever hesitate to stop by and ask for help.
